Nirlinnait • Brant Goose

Bird - Branta bernicla

Brant geese, historically a strictly coastal bird during winter, faced a near-extinction when eelgrass beds began disappearing. Some of the species were able to change their diets to incorporate seaweed, and since then, they have been incorporating seaweed into their diets as a survival technique.
