SIKU prioritizes Indigenous knowledge and classification systems for documenting environmental knowledge and observations. Environmental Profiles have Indigenous terminology cross-referenced across 40+ dialects. In each Environmental Profile, Indigenous knowledge is first and foremost, alongside and supported by Western scientific knowledge. Users create SIKU Posts that use or tag these profiles. During SIKU Post creation, users have the ability to add detailed, profile-specific information to their posts (e.g.,  Animal Info –  sex, age, body condition, capture method; Stomach Contents & Diet; Measurements; Unusual or Dangerous Info; Sampling; Habitat; and more).
